By cultivating a sound skillful relationship with our body, we gain insight into our Self.

The body is an amazing interface between our inner and outer worlds to help us locate who we are. With a masters degree in nutrition, an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies, creative vision, and nearly 20 years practicing yoga and meditation, by understanding the element of the body Sandy works with individuals to mobilize newfound clarity towards greater purpose and joy - in other words, to understand one’s Self and to connect with the world around us.

There was a time when Sandy was interested in proving everything through science. Now, she relies on curiosity to guide one to trust their own experiential wisdom. To paraphrase Jon Kabat-Zinn, our experiences are what teach us how to be human— that's our curriculum. Sandy believes a connection to the body elicits ease and clarity in decisions of how to best care for ourselves. To Sandy, health is the very dynamic process of feeling whole.

 
 

Sandy also teaches vinyasa yoga in Boston, MA and online, as well as yoga philosophy workshops. She returns to India annually to deepen her understanding of the teachings and commitment to yogic life. With an academic certificate in yogic studies, Sandy values dedicated study of yoga philosophy & texts to connect what she experiences as a student-practitioner with what she communicates as a teacher.

Years working as a stylist at Ralph Lauren evoked her ability to tap creativity and steer it towards curiosity and expression. It was after a decade of experience in clinical nutrition at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), that Sandy recognized the value of integrating her knowledge of nutrition, humans, creativity, and Eastern philosophy to support individuals in healing their relationship to their body & food. Sandy’s approach to nutrition promotes a cultural paradigm shift from the dispiriting model of dieting and health materialism, to a model premised on cultivating intuition and self-compassion.

Sandy is a licensed Registered dietitian, and holds a Masters degree in Nutrition.

She has also served on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Dietetic Association, and is a member of both the MEDA Provider Network and the Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH). Earlier in her career, she assisted Dr. Miriam Nelson with her StrongWomen program and books, and was a research assistant at Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition on several projects with Dr. Christina Economos, including a study of college health behaviors and childhood/community health interventions that focused on college and community health behaviors.

Sandy’s private nutrition practice is dedicated to helping clients explore their relationships with food, body, and movement. As an advocate for wellness, Sandy wants to reclaim the meaning of the word “health” and embraces a non-diet and Health At Every Size (HAES) approach. She identifies with the role of "nutrition therapist", and specializes in disordered eating, body image, and intuitive eating. Her approach considers overall well-being and trusts individuals’ lived body wisdom. A HAES framework emphasizes inclusivity, respect, social justice and critical consideration of scientific evidence.

Based in Boston, MA, Sandy provides private nutrition counseling (serving Massachusetts & California), speaks on yoga philosophy, and teaches vinyasa yoga classes. She is devoted to exploring spirit and consciousness through sadhana including movement, meditation, wonder, nature, and academic study.
